Travellers and cruise enthusiasts living in New York will truly be disappointed by the recent announcement made by Virgin Voyages.
The Scarlet Lady, which is first of the Virgin Voyages fleet, was meant to host a 2 day preview event in New York from The 7th of March 2020.
Virgin Voyages’ 2-day event in New York was meant to begin with a Drag Brunch and dinner at the onboard venue Razzle Dazzle for the first day.
On the second day, media and invited guests were to board the ship for a two-night stay during which they could preview the various venues.
However, in light of the ongoing global concerns the 2-day event was called off, at least temporarily, in a letter that was sent to Cruise Radio and other participants in the event by Michelle Estevam, the Senior Manager of Public Relations and Lifestyle Media for the new line.
“In light of the current news headlines… we want to ensure everyone feels it is the right time to celebrate with us.”
“We understand people may want to focus on other things at the moment, so we have made the decision to reschedule our upcoming Showcase Tour stop and events in New York City.”
Estevam shared that Virgin Voyages “will instead sail Scarlet to her new home in Miami, where we will continue with our plans for launch and welcome our Sailors for the first time.”
According to the Senior Manager the cruise has “absolutely no health concerns or issues on board.”
In the letter Estevam went on to share that the team at Virgin Voyages “elevated health protocol and processes” when they took delivery of Scarlet Lady to keep their crew and visitors well and happy.
