A recent attack in Tunisia’s capital has led to the death of one police officer and the injuries of several other officers.
The death and injuries of the police officers come as a result of two suicide bombers attacking a security post near the US embassy in Tunis, the capital of Tunisia.
Residents in the area are currently in a state of panic and have been advised to refrain from visiting areas close to the embassy whilst officers continue to assess the situation at hand, ensuring there isn’t any danger.
Tunisia’s transition to a democratic country hasn’t received immediate acceptance from all its inhabitants.
Since the Arab Spring in 2015 the nation has experienced several serious terror attacks, most of which have been carried out on open targets, like the police.
Along with the officer that lost their life and the officers that were injured there was one civilian affected by the attack as well.
