11 March 2020

The Annual New York Auto Show has been postponed until August due to coronavirus concerns.

The Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association which is responsible for the event’s occurrence announced on Tuesday that the event would now take place from August 28 to September 6.

In a statement from the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association’s President, Mark Schienberg, confirming the postponement of the Auto Show the president shared that safety was the organizing committee’s greatest concern.

Schienberg stated, “We are taking this extraordinary step to help protect our attendees, exhibitors and all participants from the coronavirus…”

“For 120 years, ‘the show must go on’ has been heavily embedded in our DNA, and while the decision to move the show dates didn’t come easy, our top priority remains with the health and well-being of all those involved in this historic event. We have already been in communication with many of our exhibitors and partners and are confident that the new dates for the 2020 Show will make for another successful event.”

Initially the New York Auto Show was meant to take place from April 10th at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
