Jay Z’s Marcy Venture Partners Manages To Raise $85 million Fund

According to a recent filing, Venture Capital Firm (VC), Marcy Venture Partners, has managed to raise $85 million for its first fund.

The San Francisco based firm, most notable for its association with billionaire rapper Jay Z focuses primarily on consumer brands.

Currently, Marcy Ventures has invested in six companies, leading the rounds for three, according to Crunchbase.

The firm’s first investment since it was founded in March 2019 was Hungry Marketplace’s $8 million Series A in April 2019.

The largest round it’s led so far was a $70 million round for singer Rihanna’s lingerie line Savage X Fenty.

The most recent investment the firm made was in the electric mobility startup Wheels in October 2019.

Other members of Marcy Ventures include Jay Z’s long-time colleague Jay Brown and venture capital veteran Larry Marcus.
