Intercontinental Exchange Inc released a June and second quarter 2020 trading volume and related revenue statistics on 06 July 2020.
The statistics of the second quarter show that the Energy open interest (OI) was up by 19% y/y and a Record energy futures Open interest of 32.5M US$ lots were reached on 25 June 2020.
In a statement, Ben Jackson, the President of International Exchange shared, “Through the second quarter, our customers faced a market environment dominated by uncertainty related to both COVID-19 and, for our oil and gas customers, ever-evolving global supply and demand dynamics.”
“Our second-quarter volumes and open interest growth reflect these trends, as our customers increasingly turn to our platforms for their risk management needs,” he added.
